Financial Aid All PhD students receive full stipend support and an insurance allowance. Assistantships are funded by numerous research projects being conducted by the faculty. This research frequently qualifies as a dissertation or research project. Assistantships are also awarded to highly qualified students on a competitive basis through the Office of the Dean. Living and Housing Costs Off-campus rooms and apartments are available at a wide range of costs for students attending the Medical University of South Carolina.
