NEUROSURGERY RESEARCH AT MUSC

The Department has a long tradition of basic and clinical research in spinal cord injury. Dr. Phanor Perot headed an NIH funded program project grant in this area for many years. The department has refocused it's research activities in the area of high quality translational, clinical and outcome research. This focus is manifested in each of the neurosurgical subspecialties practiced within the department. Collaborative efforts with other departments at MUSC, the Center for Health Care Research and the Center for Clinical Innovation and Evaluation provide the department with outstanding capabilities in many areas of clinical research.
