SKULL BASE SURGERY PROGRAM

The Skull Base Surgery Program is very active in the management of patients with lesions of the skull base such as meningiomas, chordomas, acoustic neuromas, head and neck cancers involving the skull base, orbital tumors, and various other tumors as well as vascular lesions involving the skull base. Complex lesions of the skull base are managed by a team of surgeons from various surgical specialties such as Neurosurgery, Head and Neck Surgery, Otology, Orbital Surgery and Plastic Surgery. In addition, interventional neuroradiologists will often perform angiography and preoperative embolization of tumors to assist in the management of several types of lesions. Neurosurgeons and Radiation Oncologists collaboratively treat certain tumors with Stereotactic Radiosurgery.
