PERIPHERAL NERVE SURGERY AND BRACHIAL PLEXUS REPAIR
This program provides comprehensive surgical treatment for
an entire spectrum of peripheral nerve disorders. Surgical treatment
is offered for common entrapment neuropathies such as carpal
tunnel and cubital tunnel (ulnar neuropathy) syndromes as well
as some of the less common entrapment syndromes such as radial
tunnel syndrome, peroneal entrapment, thoracic outlet syndrome,
and piriformis syndrome to name a few. The program provides
special expertise in the treatment of post-traumatic neuropathic
pain syndromes following nerve injury including resection of
painful neuromas, peripheral nerve and spinal cord stimulation.
Surgical reconstruction of the brachial plexus and repair of
traumatic peripheral nerve injuries is also offered and is routinely
performed using intraoperative nerve action potential recordings.
Patients with peripheral nerve problems can be referred to
neurology by calling 843-792-7700 or 843-792-5650.
