Clinical Expertise
Dr. Hays is a fellowship trained neurointensivist and vascular neurologist, specializing in the management of critically ill patients with neurological and neurosurgical disease processes. As one of the attending physicians responsible for staffing the NSICU, Dr. Hays focuses on the care of patients with traumatic brain injury, status epilepticus, intracerebral hemorrhage, ischemic stroke, spinal cord injury, and subarachnoid hemorrhage. A multi-disciplinary team approach, incorporating neurosurgeons, neurologists, and interventional radiologists, enhances the care of patients with complex neruovascular disease processes. In addition, Dr. Hays provides consulting services for critically ill patients in the medical and surgical ICUs with neurological complaints.

Research Interests
Pathophysiology and outcomes in traumatic brain injury, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and intracerebral hemorrhage.
