Jonathan C. Edwards, MD
Associate Professor of Neurology
Director of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program
Dr. Edwards attended Medical School at Wake Forest University,
and then completed his residency at the University of Maryland,
followed by a fellowship in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology
at the Cleveland Clinic. After nine years on the faculty at the
University of Michigan, the last two of which he served as President
of the Michigan Neurological Association, Dr. Edwards joined the
MUSC faculty in 2007 as Director of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program.
Dr. Edwards' clinical interests include epilepsy treatment, advanced neurophysiology, vagus nerve stimulation, epilepsy surgery, neurological education, and functional brain mapping. His research interests include new treatments for epilepsy, epilepsy imaging, and improving access to care for patients with epilepsy. Dr. Edwards is a member of the South Carolina Neurological Association, the American Epilepsy Society, the American Academy of Neurology, and the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society. He has served on the scientific committee of several organizations, including the American Clinical Neurophysiology Society, and is a Board Member and Examiner for the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology. Dr Edwards has won numerous awards for teaching, research, and patient advocacy.
