Julie DesMarteau, RD, MPAS, PA-C
Julie DesMarteau graduated from MUSC’s College of Health Professions with a Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Prior to becoming a PA, Ms. DesMarteau worked as a clinical dietitian at MUSC’s Children’s Hospital. In this position she earned national certification in enteral and parenteral nutrition and specialized in advanced diet therapies, including the ketogenic diet for epilepsy. She has been awarded the Phyllis A. Allen Nutrition Scholarship by the South Carolina Public Health Association, and has been a speaker at several regional nutrition conferences. From 2002 to 2005 she also served as a preceptor for MUSC’s nationally accredited Dietetic Internship Program.
Ms. DesMarteau is currently providing outpatient care for pediatric and adult patients with epilepsy. Research interests include the use of the complementary and alternative treatments for seizure disorders.
